just spoke to the owner of Westside Honda regarding the issue.

he indicated there is no point calling them again on this issue, because on their system and on the contract, the starting date of my road side assist is from 17th of september,  which means i have no proof they did not honour my contract from the first day of purchase.

so i think i had just ended up with no option left and became a victim of unfair trading in Australia.

oh well, i guess it happens all the time.

anyway, i just made almost 40k from Intec Ltd in 12 mins yesterday. so i guess at least i don't feel that bad.

consumer affair victoria

Thought you guys might want to know.

just got off the phone with consumer affair victoria, they asked to provide any sort of hard-copy evidence indicating the honda dealer refused to absorb the cost of joining RACV, which i don't have.

So they advised me to send a register a letter to the dealer to request for compensation and gives a buffer of 7 to 14 days, which i will do now.

finger crossed if they will ever acknowledge my letter.

important note

I forgot to mention a very important thing, that's the person to thanks up to this stage.
They are:

Bobby - Westside Honda Sales Person
Bobby is very patient, he is always smiling and polite from the first time through to the last phone call. He is exactly the sales person that i would like to deal with, not sure if he still wants a customer like me. If you do go to Westside Honda, remmber to ask for Bobby.

Rob - Regional Sales Manager
He is concern about my car purchase survey feedback, he also provided me quite a bit of information and explain to me the internal working of Honda Australia. He is one of the few that live on and  strive for the good reputation of Honda in this country.

Whole bunch of operator at Honda Australia 1800 804 954
Everyone i spoke to is always at the top of my case, they always dealt with my query and request without any problem. It is actually very hard to find a customer help center working that efficiently these days.

ok, i have about 10 mins break from work

Let me start short to brief what is going on.

I purchased a new motor vehicle from Westside Honda on the 17th September 2010, the car has 3 years manufacturer warranty, 2 years extended dealer warranty and 5 years Honda road side assistance.

I was happy after picking up the car but didn't realize that i wasn't given any sort of information regarding road side assistance. I tried calling up a certain people in the dealership, got told the welcome pack will come from Honda Australia in  a couple of days, and continuously i was told the same thing for almost 1.5 months.

I was a bit optimistic, thinking i could be on the lucky side and will not require the road side assistance in the new car, then trouble strike, flat tyre on the 1st November 2010.

I pulled into a maccas, called up the dealership again, request for the roadside assist phone number, the sales manager who is also new to the job promised a call back to me after finding out the number, instead, he did call me back and told me my car is not covered, because it is not in my contract.

After much calling around, i decided to get myself out of trouble by joining RACV which cost me a dear 301 dollars.

On the same day after work, i drove back to Westside Honda to verified the contract, i didn't have my carbon copy of contract with me, so i got them to pull out their copy of contract, and there it is, a handwritten sentence of  '5 years Honda roadside assistance' is on my contract list of item.

I was surprised, so too the new sales manager, he gave me the phone number to Honda roadside assist on a sticky paper, and asked me to call them, which i did on the spot, again, it turn up negative on Honda's system, it indicated my car is 'No' for roadside assistance.

On 3rd November, 2 days after the incident, the sales manager called me and explain, because the previous sales manager who had already left the job did not submit my car to Honda Australia to be included in this program, that is the reason why my car was not registered in their system, but, because it is in the contract, Westside Honda will honour what is promised.

I was happy, it is finnally sorted out, my car is finnaly covered by roadside assistance program almost 2 months after taking the delivery of the car.

Then i throw the question, what about the cost of joining the RACV? Because if my car was covered, i wouldn't need to call RACV. The sales manager was very quick to answer in the phone, he said Westside Honda will not do anything on this, and he never ask me to join RACV.

So by now you all should know what is going on.

I am still in the process of consolidating this issue. will update this blog again if all parties do come to a resolution.

This blog entry should only serve as a customer review, a review that should be shared with public, just like any customer survey form that we received from buying a product.
